Pioneers Hub Code of Conduct
The Pioneers Hub community is composed of members from diverse backgrounds, skills, and experiences, united by a shared goal of innovation and collaboration. We believe that these differences foster success and growth. This Code of Conduct is designed to guide interactions within our community, ensuring that Pioneers Hub remains a positive, inclusive, and thriving environment for all.
Our Community
Members of the Pioneers Hub community are expected to be open, considerate, and respectful. Behaviors that support these values contribute to a positive environment and include:
- Being open. Community members are encouraged to collaborate on ideas, projects, and discussions with transparency and a willingness to share knowledge.
- Focusing on the community's best interests. We respect established processes and work within them to benefit the collective.
- Acknowledging contributions. We recognize and appreciate the efforts of others, especially considering that many contributions are made voluntarily for the good of the community.
- Respecting differing viewpoints and experiences. Constructive feedback is welcome, as diverse perspectives enhance our collective efforts.
- Showing empathy towards others. We communicate thoughtfully, both online and in person, and approach differing views with tact.
- Being considerate. We consider how our actions and words affect others within the community.
- Being respectful. We respect others' opinions, skills, commitments, and efforts, fostering a culture of mutual respect.
- Gracefully accepting constructive criticism. When disagreements arise, we address them politely and professionally.
- Using welcoming and inclusive language. We create an environment where everyone feels welcome and able to contribute.
Our Standards
Every member of our community deserves to have their identity respected. The Pioneers Hub community is committed to providing a positive experience for everyone, regardless of age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, religion (or lack thereof), education, or socio-economic status.
Inappropriate Behavior
Examples of unacceptable behavior include:
- Harassment of any participants in any form
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Logging or taking screenshots of online activity for harassment purposes
- Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
- Violent threats or language directed at another person
- Incitement of violence or harassment towards any individual
- Creating additional online accounts to harass or circumvent a ban
- Sexual language or imagery in online spaces or events
- Insults, put-downs, or jokes based on stereotypes or exclusionary language
- Excessive swearing
- Unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Unwelcome physical contact, including simulated contact without consent
- Inappropriate social contact patterns, such as assuming excessive intimacy
- Sustained disruption of online discussions or in-person events
- Continued communication after requests to cease
- Other behaviors deemed inappropriate for a professional and inclusive community
Community members asked to stop any inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Consequences
If a participant engages in behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, the Pioneers Hub team may take any action deemed appropriate, including warnings or expulsion from the community and events, without refund.

Scope
Events Supported or (Co-)Organized by Pioneers Hub
This Code of Conduct applies to all participants at Pioneers Hub events, including:
- Staff
- Speakers
- Panelists
- Workshop leaders
- Exhibitors
- Organizers
- Volunteers
- All attendees
It covers all event spaces, including:
- Exhibit halls
- Presentation rooms
- Workshop rooms
- Meal areas
- Social event spaces
- Online event platforms
Event organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. Each event will provide contact information for a Code of Conduct committee responsible for receiving, evaluating, and acting on incident reports.
Pioneers Hub Online Spaces
This Code of Conduct applies to the following online spaces:
- Pioneers Hub chat servers
- Pioneers Hub social media accounts
- Official Pioneers Hub mailing lists
- Code repositories and issue trackers maintained by Pioneers Hub
- Any other online space administered by Pioneers Hub
The Code of Conduct applies to all participants in these spaces, including:
- Pioneers Hub members
- Online space admins
- Organizers
- Maintainers
- Contributors
- All community members
Each online space must provide contact information for administrators or moderators to the Pioneers Hub Code of Conduct team, which will handle and evaluate incident reports.
